The industry is leveraging all its ends and is continuously innovating the automotive arena.

Presently the size of the industry is about AUD$10 billion per annum which is 57% of the National auto Industry. Yearly exports constitutes about AUD$2.8 bill. The industry is pioneer in Vehicle manufacturing, Automotive Design, Component Manufacturing. Major Industry participants are General Motors (Holden Australia), Toyota, Ford, Robert Bosch and Siemens. These companies have over produced 326,960 motor vehicles in Australia alone. Presently the automotive Industry in Australia incorporates :

The industry works on international basis and is a hub for export. Exports in 2006 constituted to $4.85 billion. Several components are exported by Australia to various sections of the globe such as:
• Engines supply to South Korea
• Braking systems to the USA
• Mirrors to North America & Japan
• Anti-theft systems globally
• Propeller shafts to the United States of America.
There is a very bright future for automobile Industry in Australia, as several international manufacturers as well as dealers are taking keen interest in Australian markets. No doubt the industry will reach upto the zenith in the next quarter. But the competition has to be checked as several other nations are too targeting the same goal.
